Review of the 7th European Biocides Annual Conference (TSGE)

The TSGE Forum's 7th Annual European Biocide Conference focused on the regulatory challenges facing the industry.

The 2019 program covers the efficacy of repellents, disinfectants, insecticides, endocrine disruptors, practical aspects of writing dossiers, technical equivalence – new guidelines and challenges in dealing with natural substances as well as general principles of in-situ biocides.

The presentations at the event represented a colorful mix of these topics.

The lecture held by Karl-Heinz Lüpkes, Head of the Biology Department, was a special highlight for us.

In his lecture “PT 19 efficacy from a test institution’s point of view” Karl-Heinz Lüpkes informed his audience about the lack of sufficient details in the current guidelines regarding to PT 19 repellents/ attractants. These guidelines do not contain enough detailed information and do not present the desired requirements to the extent which is necessary. For this reason, his lecture gave an overview on open points and ideas for the dealing with the guidelines as well as helpful tips.

“The positive feedback on our lecture also reflects the importance of the topic" , Karl-Heinz Lüpkes explained in conclusion.
